One of the first things you do in Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game is create your hobbit. You’ll get the opportunity to choose how you look, dress and how the other hobbits in town refer to you.
If, like me, you struggled to make your hobbit look just right then don’t worry, you very quickly get the ability to update your appearance.
Once you’ve moved into your new home, check out the wardrobe by your bed. From there you’ll be able to select any of the clothing options you own to find a hobbity style that suits you.
This magic wardrobe also lets you change your appearance completely. I found my hobbit looked “off” despite playing extensively with the options at the start so I took the opportunity to make something that more closely resembled me.

Finally, if you’re not happy with your name then the wardrobe also has the ability to change it, and thus how everyone else refers to you. There’s some really good pre-set options you can mix and match from, but if you want to follow in my footsteps then I recommend Heribald Boffin.
So there you have it: A quick trip to your wardrobe once the game starts will let you tinker with your hobbit appearance as much as you want!
