Helpful Hints:
The Guardian Ebony Odogaron is a quick, ferocious monster that will relentlessly attack you. In some of Wyveria’s caverny areas, you can easily find yourself up against a wall or cliff, so pay attention to your surroundings to make sure you have space to move. It attacks with Dragon attacks which can cause Dragonblight build up, so you’ll need a Nulberry to counter that effect. There’s also the potential for Bleeding to occur as well from its claws if it hits to frequently. So keep an eye on your statuses in top-left of your screen and deal with any debuffs before they overwhelm you. General safety can be found more to the side or back of the Guardian Ebony Odogaron, making the tail sever a tasty prospect. The challenge is more the Guardian Ebony Odogaron staying still long enough for you to get the right hits in. Wounds come easier from the legs initially, just because they’re nearer the centre of the monster, and a weakened monster will move slower, allowing you that delicious tail carve.

Weaknesses

Weapons: The Head with all weapons is your best bet for damage.
Effects: All effects are achievable with Waterblight being the most consistent
Elements: Fire-element weapons are the most effective.
Status Effects: All status effects except Exhaust are possible, and Paralysis works exceptionally well.
Items: Flash Pods and Traps will work.
