How to unlock the Blue Tents
Step 1: Reach Room 46
A simple step, correct?
Well, as you may have guessed based on the first step, Blue Tents is a Permanent Addition you will access much later in your Blue Prince experience, as it requires you to effectively achieve your ultimate goal of reaching Room 46. This in itself is quite a complicated step, and as such we cover it comprehensively in our How to Reach Room 46 guide, which you can find here.
Once you have reached Room 46, you will be presented with a cutscene and credits to the game. Well done.
Step 2: Draft the Mount Holly Gift Shop
After reaching Room 46 you will add the Mount Holly Gift Shop to the drafting pool. It is The Gift Shop is, like every other shop a Gold Room that sells a few unique items.
Interact with the counter to see a price list of things to buy:
- Mt. Holly Tee – 10 Coins
- Lunch Box – 15 Coins
- Swim Trunks – 40 Coins
- Dirigiblocks Console Edition – ???
- Swim Bird Plushie – 110 Coins
- Blue Tents – ???
Step 3: Buy out the Gift Shop
Now, in order to reveal the price of Blue Tents, and make them available for purchase, you need to buy everything else with a price from the Gift Shop. This means the Tee, Lunch Box, Trunks and Plushie. Everything you buy is permanent, so you don’t have to find all the cash for everything in one run, but you will for example need to accrue 110 Coins in one day to be able to buy the Plushie.
Once that is done you will be able to buy the Blue Tents.
Step 4: Buy Blue Tents
This has its own step because unfortunately once you have bought the rest of the Shop out, you will realise that the price of Blue Tents is a whopping 400 Coins. This will require some serious preparation and a bit of luck as well to accrue this much money. If you have found the Found Floorplan Treasure Trove this is a great way to bolster your bank balance, as it will increase how much money is in the room every time you draft it. The Vault with 40 Coins is a good option, as is the Casino if you have an eye to gamble. You could also use the Freezer to freeze your money and let it roll over to the next day to try and achieve 400 Coins over two days. We also have a guide to accruing more Coins as well which can be accessed here.
Once you have 400 Coins, head to the Gift Shop and purchase Blue Tents.
What does the Blue Tents unlock in Blue Prince?
As opposed to some of the other Permanent Additions, Blue Tents provides additional clues rather than a bonus. For every Blue Room you now draft on Rank 8 of the mansion, you can find a hidden, additional Blue Memo. Some of these will give little tidbits and extra lore, whereas others provide cryptic clues about later mysteries to help you piece together how to solve even more hidden puzzles in the game.
