Bandai Namco has today revealed the release date for upcoming story-driven football game Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, and it’s coming on August 28th.
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) on that date, with Bandai Namco saying: “Players will follow Tsubasa Ozora and his team through the Asian Youth Championship before advancing to the highly contested World Youth Championship. Across this journey, players will face rival teams defined by physical power, tactical mastery and unbreakable ambition, with each match serving as a decisive clash of football philosophies.”

Players will challenge powerful opponents in the qualifying round, including Thailand, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and China, where strength and technical precision will be put to the test. Each victory will be essential, as Japan will fight to secure its place among the world stage. As the competition escalates, the World Youth Championship will also bring legendary encounters against Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Cameroon, Sweden and the Netherlands. Overwhelming pressure and unforgettable moments will define these battles, where skill alone is not enough and perseverance will become the deciding factor between glory and defeat.
