Characteristics:
Cephalapod predators whose prey include Guardian monsters. The mucus secreted from their tentacles hardens quickly into sharp edges that resemble blades or spears, which is why some call Xu Wu the “Piercing Assassin.” The sizeable mouth hidden on their underside allows them to devour even rather large prey.

In some ways the Xu Wu fight feels a lot like the Nu Udra fight in the sense it is a mass of slithering tentacles with a central head moving around. But with no elemental debuffs to worry about, the Xu Wu fight in many ways feels simpler. The easiest area to do damage to the Xu Wu is behind it whilst it is distracted, but it can still spin around and cause you annoying damage even there. Be careful to dodge its volley of shards either from the air or on the ground, as well as when its tentacles become super sharp too. Dodging them and then hitting them when they are vulnerable is a good idea. Focussing on specific tentacles for wound damage, and then severing them will significantly weaken Xu Wu, and is your more general path to victory.

Weapons: The Mouth and Head are your best best with all weapon types
Effects: Dragonblight is nullified, and Iceblight is by far the most effective.
Elements: Ice-element weapons are the most effective.
Status Effects: All status effects are possible, and Poison works exceptionally well, whereas Sleep isn’t recommended.
Items: Traps will work.
