Konami has released a Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse demo for all formats, with progress carrying over to the full game transferrable to the full version.
The Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse demo is out now on PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) and “allows players to enjoy the early stages of the game ahead of the official October 15, 2026 release”.
There’s even a trailer for the demo, below:
Konami says: “Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is an exploration-based 2D action game developed jointly by KONAMI, Evil Empire and Motion Twin. The story unfolds in Paris, France, in 1499—23 years after the events of the popular series entry Castlevania III. Rose Belmont, daughter of the Dracula-slaying hero Trevor Belmont, sets out to defeat monsters whilst exploring the burning streets of Paris and Dracula’s castle, utilizing a variety of weapons and skills, including the sacred whip ‘Vampire Killer’.”
The game is developed by Evil Empire along with Konami, and that’s notable because the developer has pedigree with The Rogue Prince of Persia, Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC (and Fatal Falls, The Bad Seed, The Queen and the Sea), so hopes are quite high this could be a great new entry into the series.
Over two decades after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse and the recent animated show, it is in the streets of 15th century Paris that a new chapter of the legendary House Belmont is about to be written in bloody red ink. Armed with a legendary holy whip, the Vampire Killer, Trevor Belmont’s successor – and the game’s protagonist – must descend into the city attacked by monstrous creatures and a looming mystical castle to hunt down the beasts and save the Parisians from eternal darkness.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is coming to PS5, XBOX, Switch, and PC on October 15th. See all the upcoming 2026 release dates here.
