Konami today announced a major update for eFootball, introducing a range of new gameplay features, competitive modes and campaign content across console, PC and mobile platforms.
Among the headline additions is the new ‘Custom Tournament’ mode, allowing users to create and host their own tournaments with up to eight participants. Players can compete using their Dream Team squads or create custom tournament rules and themes, while tournament organisers can also spectate matches between participants in real time.
The update also introduces ‘Fluid Formations’, enabling players to switch between different attacking and defensive formations during matches. Combined with newly added ‘Playing Styles’ and expanded tactical options, the feature offers greater strategic depth and allows users to build more realistic match plans.
Further gameplay enhancements include the introduction of ‘Dynamic Volley’, a new shooting mechanic that gives players greater control over first-time strikes from aerial balls. The update also adds a wide range of new animations covering player movement, dribbling, passing, shooting, trapping and goalkeeper actions, helping deliver a more authentic football experience.
For the first time, a manager with two ‘Link-Up Plays’ has been introduced to the game. Legendary coach Antonio Conte arrives with the “Touchdown Pass C” and “One-Two Cut-In B” Link-Up Plays, offering players new tactical possibilities and greater attacking versatility.
To celebrate the launch of the new season, KONAMI is running a New Season Campaign from 13 August to 3 September 2026, offering players a variety of bonuses and rewards. During the campaign period, users can earn player development items, GP, experience points and other rewards through login bonuses and campaign objectives.
Players who log in during the campaign will also receive a Special Player Contract, allowing them to sign one player from a selection featuring stars from FC Barcelona and Manchester United. Additional rewards, including player acquisition and development items, can be earned by completing in-game objectives throughout the campaign period.
The update is accompanied by new content featuring eFootball™ ambassadors Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal, with new Ambassador Editions and Packs now available. These include players, development items and exclusive stadium customisation items, with Deluxe Editions also featuring special team kits.
eFootball is out now on PC, console and mobile.
