Diablo 4 gets its first ever roadmap

A full year of content, and some in 2026 as well.

Blizzard has revealed what’s to come for fans of Diablo 4 in 2025, thanks to the first ever roadmap that’s been released for the game.

The official blog says: “Whet your appetite for continued demon slaying across Sanctuary with a look at our 2025 Roadmap. The Age of Hatred kicked off with the launch of Diablo IV and Lilith’s resurrection and was protracted by Mephisto’s resurgence in Vessel of Hatred. Throughout 2025, you will experience the spread of Mephisto’s influence through new seasonal themes and questlines as we draw closer to the release of our second expansion in 2026.”

Here’s the bullet points to look forward to, then:

  • Belial’s Return: Belial, Lord of Lies has returned to warp reality to his will. Daring wanderers can clash with Belial and 2 bosses from Vessel of Hatred as part of the updated Lair Boss system.
  • Sins of the Horadrim: We return to Nightmare Dungeons with new activities and interactions that let you progress the dungeon’s intensity as you hunt down the barons of Hell.
  • Infernal Chaos: Infernal Horde Updates – Infernal Horde is becoming more chaotic as we put new choices into your hands. Plus, advanced options between Infernal Waves will arrive, too.
  • Quality of Life Updates: Beyond seasonal updates, there are other permanent additions coming to Diablo IV.
  • The frequently requested feature, keyboard and mouse support for consoles, will give you more control over how you experience Sanctuary once it arrives.
  • Core system updates are coming to both the Battle Pass and Seasonal Journey, ensuring these features evolve in ways that are more rewarding.

Seems that Blizzard is doing a fair amount to try and keep players coming back, given the competition in the genre-space right now. It looks like the 2026 column is hiding something important as well, with “new” then a word burned out. We’d bet on that being a new class, though. We also don’t know what the new IP collab is for either the April-June update, or the September-December one.

Diablo 4 is out now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
