Nintendo has announced a “Global Jam” (or beta test/demo to you and I) for Drag x Drive on August 9th and 10th ahead of release.
The Global Jam will give potential buyers a try before they buy opportunity, with the game coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 14th for a lower than expected price of £16.99 / $19.99.
At the time of writing, the UK Global Jam hasn’t been confirmed, but the USA times are as follows (bare in mind the dates are US-format):
- 8/9 at 3:00 a.m. PT – 7:00 a.m. PT
- 8/9 at 5:00 p.m. PT – 9:00 p.m. PT
- 8/10 at 9:00 a.m. PT – 1:00 p.m. PT
The UK times have also been confirmed as follows, with Nintendo UK saying: “You can get into the action in three four-hour sessions across Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August”.
Saturday, August 9th
- 11:00 – 15:00 (UK time)
Sunday, August 10th
- 01:00 – 05:00 (UK time)
- 17:00 – 21:00 (UK time)
The third and final of the times looks the most friendly change for most UK and European players to get a try of Drag x Drive. The original X post said: “Eager to hit the court in Drag x Drive? Get a sneak peek with the Drag x Drive: Global Jam demo event! This event takes place on Aug 9 and 10, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 for Nintendo Switch Online members.”

Nintendo had similar test setups for Splatoon and ARMS, for those of us who remember it. As you’d expect, you’ll be able to download the software ahead of time, and also it’s only for Nintendo Switch Online members.
Hit the court for some exclusive, pre-season action in the Drag x Drive: Global Jam event, only for Nintendo Switch Online members. Get up to speed in the tutorial and dive straight into online multiplayer matches during dedicated timeslots ahead of the game’s launch on August 14th!
The event software will be available to download here ahead of the event.
