Techland has announced that the next standalone game in the Dying Light series, Dying Light: The Beast is coming on August 22nd.
Confirmed during Summer Game Fest, the first game trailer was revealed, and it confirmed that Kyle Crane, the protagonist from the first game will be starring in Dying Light: The Beast.
Techland explained: “Kyle Crane, Dying Light protagonist, breaks free from a decade of experimentation to find the world has changed… and so has he. Explore the once-picturesque tourist destination Castor Woods in a quest for revenge. Harness Kyle’s half-human, half-zombie DNA to unleash devastating powers along with his survival and parkour skills, complete with four-player co-op support.”
It’s worth noting that if you own Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition you can get the (otherwise pre-order) “Hero of Harran” bundle, which contains:
- Ultimate Survivor Outfit – Known as the Juggernaut outfit in Dying Light, this cool makeshift apocalyptic look was rewarded to the most dedicated survivors.
- Harran Combat Knife – A swift and deadly weapon, the zombie head engraving on the blade is a throwback to the original Dying Light’s box art.
- The Follower Crossbow – First found in Dying Light: The Following expansion, this crossbow is perfect for a stealthier approach.
