Fishing is coming to Fallout 76

Fallout 76 fishing update

The upcoming update for Fallout 76 will be including a brand new pastime which will allow the plays to go fishing for the first time ever. It will be featuring in the upcoming 21st season, titled Fallout 76: Gone Fission. In it, players will take part in a questline to secure their first Fishing Rod and other new in-game content and rewards. Expect to travel around Appalachia with your rod and relax (as best you can during the nuclear fallout).

Gone Fission brings fishing to Fallout 76, including an exciting new interactive feature. In any region in Appalachia, you’ll now be able to cast off and reel in a plethora of fish, from the Noxious Sawgill and the Bloodwhisker, to the Glowing Gulpy and rare axolotls that rotate every month. All you’ll need is a fishing rod and some bait!

Anywhere players are able to swim, fishing will also be available. There will be different kinds of bait and fishing rods to collect and use, as well as various weather conditions. Depending on where you fish, new fish types will spawn. This will allows players hook a variety of catches such as common fish, one of 12 prized Axolotls available each month, and Local Legends (the big boys of the waters). Players will be able to eat fish to restore health and hunger, or convert them into fish bits to cook and include in a variety of recipes for special effects. There will also be the option to share a snack with Linda-Lee, the giant hermit crab found at Fishermen’s Rest, for a Legendary item.
