Epic has confirmed that Fortnitemares is back for 2025, adding a scary/spooky themed element to Fortnite for another Halloween season.
Over on the official Fortnite blog, the full event is laid out, with the “nightmare” beginning right now, and running until November 1st. Epic says: “Fear gets a new face. Meet the Mother of Thorns, Doja Cat, who’s twisting Battle Royale into her haunted kingdom and unleashing chaos with a wild cast of characters. From Jason to Wednesday Addams to Scooby-Doo and Ghost Face, VIPs of fright await.”
There’s a new Reload Map (Nitemare Island) which will debut tomorrow (October 10th, Friday), and as you’d imagine it’ll be all decked out with season visuals. Witches in cauldrons, spiders on walls, and of course, more sinister looking sections of the map will be present too.
There will also be Twitch drops happening offering the following:
- Treat Sack Back Bling (Watch for 30 minutes cumulative)
- Treat Axe Pickaxe (Watch for 1 hour cumulative)
If you’re not familiar with a Twitch drop, all you have to do is have your relevant game account linked to your Twitch account (in this case, your Fortnite/Epic Games account) and watch a stream on the service for whatever amount of time is required. You just have to tune in to a Fortnite category-based stream from today (October 9th) at any time from 9am ET (2pm UK time) until October 12th at 11:59pm ET (04:59 UK) and you will get the drop you are looking for.
There’s also two jam tracks being added from Doja Cat’s new album (Vie):
- AAAHH MEN! – Doja Cat
- Gorgeous – Doja Cat
Fortnite is a very busy game at the moment, as only last week the hugely popular Netflix show KPop Demon Hunters were added to the game, with new outfits, battle royale, and blitz items.
Fortnite is out now and free to play.
