Fortnite and Squid Game have joined forces to bring a brand new Fortnite Reload map, various cosmetics, and plenty of UEFN tools to the game. With the third and final series of the popular Netflix show releasing today, the collaboration will allow players to immerse themselves in the literal game of life and death.
‘Squid Grounds,’ the new Fortnite Reload map brings familiar locations from the show to Fortnite. There are staged town sets and a hollowed-out labyrinth that cuts underneath the island. Fight to survive and grab your gear in order to be the final team standing. Another cool feature of the collaboration is the addition of Red Light Green Light.
Let the games begin
As for the the UEFN and Creative, there are plenty of Squid Game-themed devices, templates, props, Galleries, and NPCs to choose from. It’s going to be cool to see just how unhinged the games creators are going to put together. Here are just some of them available:
- Games Player and Guard NPCs – Populate islands with games players wearing the iconic green jumpsuits, the black-suited guard, or pink-suited guards (choose circle, triangle, or square mask decal options!)
- Disguises – Creators can set up the Disguise device and Disguise kit in various ways to enable players to temporarily transform into Squid Game guard or player participant (ideal for sowing deceit and confusion!)
- Skilled Interaction Device – Now supports multiplayer skill checks with synced, turn-based, or random interactions
- Voting Option and Voting Group devices – Create tough choices and tense moments with vote-based decision-making mechanics
These created islands can be created now, with them being published and playable from August 14. Finally, the Fortnite Item Shop has received various Squid Game-themed content. These include the Games Guard Outfit or the Ddakji Defender Outfit; the Delicious Dalgona Back Bling; and the Lil’ Prized Piggy Bank Emote.
