Epic Games has announced LEGO Fortnite Expeditions will be launching on June 18th, offering a new PvE mode for players to take on Mask Maker Daigo.
The developer (and publisher) explains that “LEGO Fortnite Expeditions goes live tomorrow and can be accessed through its own tile in Discover or directly from Odyssey and Brick Life using a Battle Bus Station”, adding: “Speaking of Odyssey, Spires appeared in the world earlier this month but haven’t been activated yet. Players should prepare to take action and stay tuned for more developments in Odyssey in July.”
Here’s the key features for LEGO Fortnite Expeditions:
- Missions – Team up with your fellow heroes in 4-player co-operative Missions to stop the chaos. As players complete Missions, they will earn Hero XP and also help progress Team Projects, unlocking buffs that will apply to all players, as well as new Missions. To learn more about Missions, Mission Locations and how to access them, read the blog here.
- Hero Classes – Master your skills across three new Hero Classes – Shadow Caller, The Hunter and Rift Ripper – each of which provide a different gameplay experience. Players can complete Missions to level up and discover new strategies and styles of play by mixing things up and trying different Hero Classes.
- Enemies in Expeditions – Every super hero has their challenges and Daigo isn’t going down without a fight. Be prepared to face off with several foes including the Light Demon Guards, Titans and more before being able to test your heroic abilities against supervillain Mask Maker Daigo. Be sure to channel your learnings from the Supernova Academy!
- Tools in the Toolbox – Boost your super powers with one of the tools in LEGO Fortnite Expeditions, choosing from Dual Daggers, War Hammer or Plasma Pistols.
Daigo’s Spires and the rest of his forces have started spawning all across the world and are causing chaos everywhere! Gather your strength, and your fellow heroes-in-training, to put an end to his schemes…
In co-op Missions, take down forces of evil that appear in waves. Go on a detour by exploring the map and aiding citizens in need of rescue! You can also find Chests packed with resources, currency, or gear to help with your heroism.
Access Missions from the Academy hub at the Mission Terminal. At the terminal, either start a new Mission, find a specific Mission, or choose Quick Play to join the next available Mission that needs players.
That’s not all, though, as LEGO Brick Editor and LEGO Bloom Tycoon template (for Fortnite Creators) is also launching tomorrow, on June 18th.
Fortnite is out now, and free to play on all devices.
