Coffee Stain Publishing and developer Lavapotion have together announced that Songs of Conquest has now launched on Nintendo Switch.
The team compares it to games of old saying it’s a spiritual successor to Heroes of Might and Magic, but it really is a fantastic game if you like your strategy of the turn-based variety.
“We heard there was a console we had yet to lay siege to, and that simply won’t do! We’re thrilled to introduce Songs of Conquest to Nintendo Switch players today, bringing our tactical fantasy strategy game to new players around the world,” said Carl Toftfelt, Lead Game Designer at Lavapotion. “The support from our incredible community has made Songs of Conquest what it is today, and we’re thrilled that more players will now get to experience the game. There’s never been a better time to get stuck in, and we hope fans both new and old enjoy the experience on Nintendo Switch.”
Songs of Conquest started out as an early access PC title on Steam, but hit 1.0 in May 2024 and has since come to PlayStation and Xbox. It’ll cost you 29.99 EUR / 24.99 GBP / 29.99 USD, with the DLC (Vanir) a separate purchase for 10.99 EUR / 8.99 GBP / 10.99 USD.
A spiritual successor to legendary titles such as Heroes of Might and Magic and the Age of Wonders series, Songs of Conquest blends stunning retro pixel artwork with classic kingdom management and tactical gameplay that strategy fans know and love. With four base factions to choose from, players can dominate the battlefield in a range of playstyles, leading their troops to victory across gripping campaigns, conquest maps, and in-game challenges.
Alongside the singleplayer experience, Songs of Conquest on Nintendo Switch features local multiplayer. Up to eight players can play together, either united against a common enemy in co-op mode, or against one another in tactful PvP battles where only one shall reign victorious.
Songs of Conquest is out now for PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
