A new title has been announced by a self-taught developer: it’s called Golf Gambit, and it looks a whole lot of fun if the trailer is anything to go by.
The press release says: “Golf Gambit is a chaotic mini golf game which supports up to 8 players. It’s the mini golf we all know and love, but with added explosions and tornadoes, thanks to the suite of powerups and traps players can deploy against each other. Think less PGA tour, more Micro Machines meets Worms at the Pitch n Putt! You know what, I’m just going to stop talking and let this frankly spectacular trailer do the work.”
So yes, let’s watch:
Developed by KB Entertainment, and published by Tiny Dragon, the title is hitting early access on Steam. The developer has been working on the title for two years, and thinks it’ll be in early access for around 12 months.
The full version is aiming to include:
- 6 Courses with 18 holes on each, totalling 108 holes total
- Over 40 unique traps
- Single-player mode, with or without traps.
- 8 Player multiplayer, fully customizable to tailor the best mini-golf experience.
- Cross-play
- Cross-platform level editor
- Cosmetic items
The early access version, then, will include three courses (18 holes each), 20 unique traps, single player mode (with or without traps), and 8 player multiplayer.
“I intend to increase the price of the final version of the game once all the additional content has been added. I don’t plan on making incremental price increases along the way. When I decide to do this, I will clearly communicate this in advance of any change to the price”, explains the developer, adding: ““I am hoping the community will play an active role in the development of Golf Gambit. I will be monitoring online discussions with a particular focus on Steam and Golf Gambit’s official Discord for feedback.”
Golf Gambit is coming to PC via early access.
