Side-scrolling football game “Kick” is coming on July 30th

One you might have missed.

Indie developer nospace lost and publisher Shoreline Games have together announced Kick, a side-scrolling football game coming to PC via Steam on July 30th.

It looks a lovely looking title, as you can see from the trailer below:

The developer nospacelost said: “Kick is a game about the small, overlooked moments of childhood, the freedom of exploring the world with nothing but your soccer ball at your feet. I hope players enjoy the small slice of The Kid’s journey that’s available to play as part of Steam Next Fest, and I cannot wait for the full launch in July.”

Stepping into the shoes of The Kid, players will race their way through scenic Japanese-inspired landscapes, each with their own obstacles to avoid and soccer ball challenges to master. From bustling streets and scenic beaches to shaded underpasses and sprawling parks, Kick’s story will see players practicing their skills in the park, running to catch the train, and taking well trodden shortcuts to shave much needed seconds off their travel time, all in hopes of beating the dreaded school bell.

Shoreline Games CEO, Keith Kawamura added: “Peter has created something truly special in Kick, a heartfelt and stylish adventure we’re honoured to help bring to life, and we’re thrilled to share that players will be able to get their hands on the full game from next month!”

Here’s the key features:

  • Kick, jump, ‘n’ run through 23 levels, each with its own hazards and opportunities
  • Beat the timer in select timed levels set to challenge your skills, or disable timers for a more laid back experience
  • Collect coins to unlock skins for your ball and flags, which can be displayed in-game.
  • Use your ball skills to complete in-game challenges

Kick is coming to PC via Steam on July 30th.
