Konami has released a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, showing an “extended look” at the Fox Hunter online mode.
The reason we say “extended look” is that, well, the trailer is just over two minutes long. It features Yu Sahara, the Director for Fox Hunt mode, who explains: “Fox Hunt is a completely original online multiplayer mode. Though it shares the same world with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the gameplay is completely different”.
Sahara says: “When we say Metal Gear multiplayer, many fans will probably think of Metal Gear Online, and Fox Hunt will be its own, new type of mode”.
The trailer descriptions says: “Get ready to join the hunt. A brand-new online multiplayer experience coming to METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER. Our passionate team of developers take us on an extended look into the creation of METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER and its bonus content.”
At the previous reveal of the mode during the Konami Press Start Showcase, Konami said: “FOX HUNT Director Yu Sahara gave viewers a concept of the brand-new online multiplayer mode, character renders and early gameplay footage. FOX HUNT, a completely original mode, broadens the franchise’s core stealth element where players must utilize their environments to camouflage and evade opposing players. More details will be announced later.”
Elsewhere, we’ve had the opening cinematic revealed, which showed off a newly recorded theme song, and the collector’s edition details have been released.
Konami has said that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be a “faithful remake” of the original 2004 PS2 game, adding that “a new generation of players and loyal fans alike can experience the origin story of the famed BIG BOSS, and witness how his legend was forged in the crucible of Operation Snake Eater”, and has confirmed the remake will star the original English and Japanese voice characters.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is coming on August 28th to Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
