Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater finally has a release date, and it’s coming on August 28th to Xbox, PS5, and PC via Steam.
Announced at the latest State of Play (February 12th), the full lineup of editions you can buy has also been confirmed, along with a new trailer (below) that teases the return of Snake vs Monkey with, says Konami, “upgraded visuals”.
Konami explained the Monkey part, saying: “A new trailer shown during today’s PlayStation State of Play event revealed members of the infamous Cobra Unit and teased the return of SNAKE VS MONKEY – a fan-favourite special game for the PlayStation and Steam versions of the game”. The team also said that “more information about Snake Vs. Monkey game mode for the Xbox Series X|S version of the game will be revealed at a later date.”
Konami also adds that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be a “faithful remake” of the original 2004 PS2 game, adding that “a new generation of players and loyal fans alike can experience the origin story of the famed BIG BOSS, and witness how his legend was forged in the crucible of Operation Snake Eater”, and also confirming the remake will star the original English and Japanese voice characters.
There will be a digital deluxe edition, and a physical deluxe which will include the “Sneaking DLC pack”, which includes:

- Uniform – Crocodile suit
- Uniform – Naked (Woodland)
