Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 brings loads of new content on April 4

Everything that's headed our way.
Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase

Having barely been out a month, Monster Hunter Wilds has already proved a massive success for Capcom, and now more content is incoming in the form of the first free Title Update. In the latest showcase, Capcom revealed a ton of extra details, including information on new monsters and challenges.

MORE MONSTERS

First of all, as was already revealed, Mizutsune is joining Monster Hunter Wilds. Coming in both standard and Tempered forms, this water-based leviathan is able to spit soapy bubbles at you that convey a variety of effects and throw you off-balance. It’s a stunning monster last seen in Monster Hunter Rise.

In addition to Mizutsune, we’ll also be seeing Arch-Tempered Rey Dau, a much tougher version of the Windward Plains Apex monster. This beast appear in an Event Quest on April 29, so a little after the Title Update launches, and will bring with it a new armour set to craft.

And finally, story boss Zoh Shia will be available to hunt after Hunter Rank 50, and will also drop materials to craft new weapons and armour.

THE GRAND HUB

Replacing the Gathering Hub from previous games is the Grand Hub, a meeting place for hunters to hang out, play mini games like the new Barrel Bowling (it’s like bowling, but with explosive barrels, see?), and compare fashion fits. You can also watch performances by the Diva, a musical NPC who will put on a nightly show. The Grand Hub will also host Seasonal Events such as the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, which will take place between April 23 and May 7. This event and future iterations will bring new challenges, quests, and rewards.

ARENA QUESTS

Something conspicuous by their absence at launch were Arena Quests, and they’re also being added. You’ll be able to take on Challenge Quests alongside a friend, using predetermined builds, to earn a place on a leaderboard and pick up some cool Pendants as rewards. Or you’ll be able to jump into Free Quests and wear whatever you like.

MORE DLC

And finally, Title Update 1 will bring new paid cosmetic DLC packs (which will be at no extra charge to owners of the Cosmetic DLC Pass), as well as bringing back some classic gestures. You can check it all out in the full Showcase video, below:

And if you haven’t already, why not read our 10/10 review, in which we said: “Monster Hunter Wilds feels like a true evolution of the series, maintaining everything that gives it it’s identity but tweaking multiple elements to improve and streamline systems that still felt a little sluggish.”
