Known Habitats: Plains, Forest, Basin, Cliffs, Wyveria
Characteristics:
A flying wyvern that was considered extinct according to documents left behind by the Guild. Their wings have a unique, chain-like blade that can extend and retract freely to reap their prey. They feed on elemental energy absorbed through these chainblades, and are able to convert the energy to unleash dragon element attacks.
Special Attack: Weak Roar, Minor Wind Pressure, Dragonblight.
Strategy
Weak Point: Chainblades
Breakables: Head, Chainblades x2
Tail Sever: Yes
Helpful Hints:
This final Akveld fight follows a very similar pattern to its Guardian equivalent. You’ll want to watch out for Arkveld’s lumbering Chainblades that be swung at quite a pace, have a huge range, and can hit like a truck if they connect. If they miss though they are ripe for the wailing on for a few moments. Again the safest spaces are underneath Arkveld or just behind it, as long as you watch out for tail swipes. When Arkveld turns into its red, enhanced state, it can inflict Dragonblight very quickly. Pummeling him with continuous elemental attacks from your weapons can actually overload it and return it to its regular state.
Weaknesses
Weapons: All weapons are strong against the Head, Chainblades, and Tail
Effects: The Chainblades are immune to all effects, and the rest of Arkveld isn’t fairly strong against them too
Elements: Dragon-element weapons are the most effective.
Status Effects: All status effects are possible, and are quit effective.
Items: Flash Pods and Traps will work.
