While I’m an ardent lover of all things PowerWash Simulator, I have to admit I’m not particularly knowledgeable about Adventure Time. I watched the first couple of seasons when they arrived on Netflix several years ago and it’s a good time but until now I’d never been back to the Land of Ooo. That said, when I saw it was in need of a good clean, I was more than happy to pick my power washer back up and help them out.
The Adventure Time pack sees you travel across five locations that fans of the show will love, including Finn and Jake’s treehouse, Ice King’s castle and Pizza Sassy’s, the last of which I didn’t recognise but still enjoyed my visit. Along the way you’ll get to enjoy the text-based chatter of your favourite characters, including Marceline, Ice King and Lumpy Space Princess, although I found the banter lacking a little as it wasn’t voiced. LSP, in particular, is the voice I immediately think of when I think of Adventure Time so it would have been nice to include them.

If you’ve played the base game then you’ll know what to expect here, and if you don’t then I recommend you read my full PowerWash Simulator 2 review. I actually hadn’t played much of the game on PS5, as I reviewed it on PC, so I didn’t have many upgraded pieces of kit unlocked. I was pleased to see that the Adventure Time levels have their own, candy-themed cleaning equipment to use so there’s no need to worry about unlocks or upgrades, you’re free to just jump in.
The levels are generally quite large, with only one vehicle cleaning level being on the shorter side but I still appreciated the diversity in environments. You’ll find many of the new additions to PowerWash Simulator 2 in these levels, including a cute Jake scissor lift. My main gripe is that one of my favourite additions was the introduction of multi-stage levels which opened up as you progressed through them. Unfortunately these aren’t in the Adventure Time pack, which felt like a bit of a missed opportunity.

Visually, the game’s had a makeover which gives it a bright, vibrant look and makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a cartoon. It’s great, although occasionally the constant swaying back and forth of the screen while cleaning can make me feel a bit discombobulated, and the cartoony visuals can make this worse, which left me unable to play for extended periods of time.
PowerWash Simulator 2: Adventure Time pack isn’t a revolutionary addition to the game, but fans of the cartoon will surely love strapping on their candy cleaner and stepping into the Land of Ooo.
