The Eternal Life of Goldman is coming to Xbox Game Pass on release

The demo is out now on Xbox Series X|S, too.
The Eternal Life of Goldman

The Eternal Life of Goldman is one of the games I most want to play in 2026, and now it’s been announced it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass on release. Better yet, the demo that was previously on Steam is out now for Xbox Series X|S now, so you can get a taste of the platforming excellence straight away.

The hand drawn 2D adventure is all about, well, the titular Goldman, obviously. “Goldman, hero of the upcoming hand-drawn 2D platforming adventure The Eternal Life of Goldman, has come to save the archipelago and to become the hero that the people there expected the least. While he may not seem like your typical saviour-of-the-world type, Goldman has quite a few qualities that make him perfectly suitable for the job”, explains the press release.

On top of that, a new trailer has been released to celebrate this news.

People like myself who’ve been following this one for what seems like a lifetime will be wondering, “OK, but what about the release date, then?” and… sadly, we don’t have any news on that front. The press release simply confirms that: “The Eternal Life of Goldman is being developed by Weappy Studio and published by THQ Nordic and will be available for Nintendo Switch, PS5, and premieres day one on Xbox Game Pass!”

One might think Goldman can’t defeat anyone with that funny little cane, but please believe us: Yes, he cane! Make sure to check out the latest trailer to see all the unbelievable options this simple cane can give an old man! From jumping to the highest platforms — or onto the heads of his enemies — to hanging onto objects, pulling them, creating a flash of phosphorus, or turning it into a proper shield against enemy attacks: this cane is a powerful weapon in the hands of any old man who knows how to use it.

The Eternal Life of Goldman is coming to PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S (Game Pass), PS5, and Switch later this year.
