Grizzly Games has today announced Thronefall received a new update in celebration of selling over one million copies. It has also received over 18,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam as well as over 500 very positive reviews, which is pretty staggering. The new update in Thronefall will bring 12 new mini modes with it, as well as the highly requested True Endless mode and the Reverse Siege mode where the player gets to be the attacker.
Thronefall is a minimalist strategy game about defending your little kingdom without unnecessary complexity and with a healthy dose of hack-and-slay. It’s currently available on PC and Nintendo Switch. Read the team’s Steam news post here for more information on this massive update.
The update also brings a number of quality of life improvements, such as colour blindness settings, speed toggle hotkeys, and four new languages (Korean, Italian, Ukrainian, Czech), along with some smaller bug fixes. Ever since the game has launched into Early Access, the developers have stuck by it to release a steady schedule of updates, which have included a whole bunch of new features and additions.
As a result, Thronefall has received new major levels, hero units, a roguelike endless mode, mini modes and plenty of quality of life improvements. The True Endless mode adds unique level 4 upgrades as well as allowing players to face off against endless waves of enemies on the same map until they lose. The other mode coming with the new update for Thronefall includes Reverse Siege mode, which is fundamentally the same game except players get the chance to be the attacker.
Every mini-mode is different and has unique rules to explore. Remember that completing mini-modes is entirely optional and does not grant achievements. They’re little gameplay experiments we made to explore the untapped potential of the game and to provide some additional end-game content for those who already know the game inside out.
The update for Thronefall is out now on PC, and with 12 new mini-modes, it’s the perfect time to give it a go.
