The West Gate Path is one of the Permanent Additions you can unlock in Blue Prince. It will provide you with a specific benefit that is permanently unlocked once you have secured it for the first time. How to unlock the West Gate Path
Step 1: Draft the Utility Closet
Your first step to unlocking the West Gate Path is to draft the Utility Closet as you are building your mansion. Once you have done you need to head inside and interact with the Breaker Box there. But for now, what you need to do is go down to the switch marked Garage and flick it to the On position. You can now leave the Utility Closet.
Step 2: Keep to the West Wing of the house
The next step requires you to be on the West Wing of the house, so depending on how you are drafting rooms, you may need to consider what rooms will get you to the West Wing easily. Once you are in a position to begin drafting rooms on the very West side of the house, move on to Step 3.
Step 3: Draft a Garage
As you work your way North along the West Wing from about Rank 4, you’ll have the chance to draft the Garage room. When you see it, you need to draft it and head inside. To the left of the door, you should see a switch, which if you press it will open the main Garage door to the outside. Note: If you had not flipped the switch in the Utility Closet, the switch here would be unresponsive.
Step 4: Head Outside and find the West Gate
With the Garage door unlocked, head outside. Then follow the path left, which will take you south down the side of the house. You will be able to walk over a plank that crossed a little river, and then as you get to the front of the house, turn left. You should come across a gate that is bolted shut. Interact with the gate to unlock the West Gate Path Permanent Addition.
What does the West Gate Path unlock in Blue Prince?
This West Gate Path will now be permanently unlocked, and is accessed at the start of every day just by heading around the side of the mansion from the front.
If you turn around from the West Gate you just unlocked, and follow the path over the other bridge directly in front of you, you will come to a new door. This is an Outer Room, and is an additional room that you can draft each day that can either give you additional benefits or affect how you day plays out in other ways.
Like any other room, you get a choice of 3 rooms to pick from. These Rooms include:
- Tool Shed – 2 Special Items
- Shelter – Protects you from the negative effects of the next 3 Red Rooms drafted.
- Schoolhouse – Adds 8 Classrooms to today’s draft
- Shrine – Make an offering and receive a blessing.
- Root Cellar – Rooms in your house will be more likely to contain dig spots today.
- Hovel – Special Floorplans now cost additional Steps instead of Gems.
- Trading Post – Items for Trade
- Tomb – Each time you draft a Dead End in your house, spread 5 Coins in the Tomb.
