Revenge of the Savage Planet is a sequel bursting with things to do, secrets to uncover, and stuff to collect. One of the more enjoyable pursuits is capturing and researching all 36 species of alien life across its four core worlds. Some are super easy, but some are a little trickier – but you need them all if you want to unlock every upgrade and cosmetic option. Handily, we’ve got them all, so we’ve broken them down into a handy set of guides to help you find and nab them. This is part three of our Revenge of the Savage Planet capture guide: how to capture every creature on Zenithian Rift.
While most of these creatures can be captured easily enough, you’ll want to scan them all first. If they’re aggressive, scanning them will expose their weak spot, allowing you to stun them. To capture a creature, you need to lasso it with the Proton Whip and pull it towards you, so the closer you can get the better.
CURADORA: This creature is also found on Xephyr, so if you have already captured it there, it’s the same here.
ICICON: These super-aggro little ice dragons often attack in tandem with Lavacons. There are two ways to stun them, though: either blast them with water, or deflect one of their projectiles back at them and freeze them. Do that, and then rope them. Beware though, you’ll need to clear out their allies first.
LAVACON: Like the Icicon, only they set you on fire instead. The process is the same though: stun them with a water blast and grab them with the whip.
DETONATON: These can actually be tricky. They look like little koala bears, but will run at you screaming and then explode. Don’t try to lasso them if there are others around, as the explosion will send you flying – and they’re almost always located up high on one of the floating glaciers. Get one on its own and you can rope them without stunning them.
ROLLY POLLY: Angrier cousin to the Trickle, the Rolly Polly can’t be shot unless you charge up the round first. Whip them away to get some distance, isolate them, and then lasso them as normal.
SIMIAN PUFFER: Like the Raccocco and the Puffer Fox, this balloon like monkey is an easy capture. Just lasso them and pull them in – they will barely fight back and aren’t dangerous.
TOXWIN: Stinky penguins by all accounts, the Toxwin is a three-eyed flightless bird and can be stunned by shooting its weak spot. They release clouds of acid that you’ll need to avoid, but other than that they’re simple enough.
ALPHA TOXWIN: A bigger version of the Toxwin, this huge, bulbous creature needs to be staggered and then roped, so scan it first and identify its weak spot. These and the Toxwin are only found in one location in the game, but you’ll need to go there for a story mission so you can’t miss them.
CRUSHER: One of the few truly dangerous creatures in Revenge of the Savage Planet, these raging lobster-beasts will attack you on sight and often in groups. Isolate them, ignore their leaping pincer attack, and shoot them in the arse to stagger them.
ARMORED CRUSHER: Like the crusher, only covered in a strong chitinous shell that you’ll need to stomp on to break. Get some height on them and perform a ground stomp to shatter their shell, and then you can stagger them with a shot to the weak spot.
