CONTROL Resonant guide: The Incursion Fault

Walk on walls

Once you get to Central in CONTROL Resonant you’ll get main and side questlines to follow, as well as a new thread focused on finding Jesse. These are important as each Jesse interaction unlocks new traversal moves, so if you want to get around the world quickly then I’d prioritise this as soon as you can.

How to unlock the first traversal ability

Head to the West Incursion Zone, following the line of cars all going the same direction. Report this on your radio as you go, then when you approach the checkpoint some enemies will spawn. Defeat them and use the lift to go up into the checkpoint and through to the incursion zone.

Walk along the street and up the patterned floor with the bent bus and you’ll get a vision from Jesse which triggers the start of The Incursion Fault. You’ll get an objective to aim for, and it’s worth activating the map as you’re heading that way anyway. Following the objective you’ll find the Theater Vista quick travel door to activate, then below is a square outside the House of Mirrors where you’ll find all the dishes for activating the map. These are all on ground level, if you’re wondering.

Your objective is directing you towards the patterned floor with an elevator on it, but it needs a power cube charging before you can use it. Go inside the House of Mirrors to find a charged cube, take the charge and bring it back to the patterned floor then ride the elevator up.

You’ll get another vision of Jesse and a bunch of enemies to fight. Take them out and enter the parking garage to find it locked and a note telling you the key is either in the laundromat or around the back of the garage. Go round the back and across the street to find the laundromat with an alley alongside it. Sprint down the alley to avoid the spikes then hang a left down the alley with a laser guarding it. Use the door on the left to enter the laundromat, you’ll find the parking attendant is floating so nick his keys and head back to the garage.

Go in and take the elevator to the roof, you’ll get another vision then jump down the middle of the car park to enter the fault. Jump across to the TV to start another Jesse obstacle course which gives you access to a new gravity shift power that lets you walk on patterned floors. It’s very cool and very trippy.

And that’s how you add the first traversal ability to your repertoire!

We’ve got a few other guides to CONTROL Resonant that you may find useful. There are guides to two early sidequests: Crossing the Threshold and Panopticon Service Request, plus a runthrough of all the difficulty options found in Assist Mode.
