Publisher Three Friends and developer Bloom & Gloom have together announced Into the Wind, a cosy hand-crafted adventure where you can take to the skies on a motorcyle-plane and explore a magical island.
The team says Into the Wind is inspired by Studio Ghibli, which you can tell from the visuals. In the game, you will “inherit their uncle Umberto’s delivery firm as they attempt to solve the mystery of his disappearance.”
Bloom & Gloom adds: “Along the way, they’ll make friends with the island’s colourful residents, customise their bike and home, battle rowdy air pirates and discover the freedom of life among the clouds in a heartfelt adventure inspired by the joy of the journey itself.”

Here’s some of the key features:
- Motorcycle flight that enables players to take to the skies of Santa Rosa. Cargo has weight, and fuel matters. Roads, shortcuts, weather, wind, and bad landings are all part of the journey.
- Deliver packages to locals in your uncle’s stead. Carry out deliveries all over the islands: some delicate that have to be handled with care, others heavy that make going up (or down) hill more difficult. Doing jobs earns you resources you use to upgrade Ermes, allowing you to take on more challenging deliveries and adventures.
- Adriatic open world exploration where players can immerse themselves in the magical islands, cruise along beautiful coastal roads and explore the many villages and all they have to offer.
- Solve the mystery of your uncle’s disappearance – what really happened that day, when Umberto tried to reach above the skies? It’s up to you and Ermes to find out!
- Customise your character, motorcycle and home to your heart’s content – explore the island to find new artisans with goods to bring home with you.

“Into the Wind is about the joy of the journey” says Albert Säfström, Co-Founder and Producer at Three Friends. “There’s a wonderful, tactile satisfaction to just driving around on the bike, whether you’re on the ground or in the air. You get into this rhythm where you make a delivery, grab an upgrade, and then immediately head back out just to see how the new parts feel. It creates a deceptively addicting ‘one more delivery’ loop that makes it very hard to put the controller down.”
“It’s no secret that we are fans of Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.” says Robin Hjelte, Co-Founder and Game Director at Bloom & Gloom. “Especially Porco Rosso struck me deeply, and I wanted to make a game about flying among freedom loving idiots in a romantic setting in the Adriatic sea. Into the Wind is our love letter to all that, and more that has been truly meaningful to us: anime, games, movies, summer evenings in the setting sun. It’s a game about momentum, flight, and great game feel, but also about just immersing yourself in the small moments of this world and its stories. We can’t wait for you to take to the skies of Santa Rosa!”
Into the Wind is coming to PC via Steam.
