CinderCat Games has announced it will be including an Arena Mode in its upcoming action-adventure game GLUM, which launches in Early Access this Thursday. Starring a grumpy goblin in the starring role, players set out on a quest to rescue his kidnapped boss. It looks crazy, where players use their magical boot to kick the hell out of anyone (or thing) standing in their way.
Unleash your inner ass-kicking menace in this unique “First-Person Booter”. Step into the boot of Glum, the crude, short-tempered goblin, and kick, cuss and fight your way through a vibrant and physics-based world that – unlike your average Sunday morning cartoon – is not suited for sticky children.
GLUM is a game where one man’s tragedy is another man’s comedy.
CinderCat Games has revealed some of the features expected in Arena Mode, and the features sound great. Here’s a short overview of what to expect:
- Arena Mode puts you against several waves of enemies, with each wave increasing in difficulty!
- Healing is limited and it’ll be a significant challenge to complete compared to story mode.
- Once you’ve destroyed all the waves you will receive a new boot cosmetic (befitting your efforts – something big, hard and beautiful).
- Over time this mode will evolve into having different arenas, more waves, more enemies and wacky traps and hazards..
All you need to know is that there has been a coup and Glum’s overlord, Semperius, has been mysteriously captured by rivaling overlords. Although Glum has lived his sorry excuse of a life being the underling of one particularly mean Overlord, the Overlord’s kidnapping forces Glum to dust off an old magical boot and unleash his main character energy in his search for vengeance (and the return of a stable income).
The Early Access trailer can be watched below, giving you an idea of the type of insanity to look forward to:
