Arrowhead Studios has released the latest major update for Helldivers 2 called ‘Heart of Democracy,’ and it brings the fight against the aliens to Super Earth. The details of the update have been revealed on the official PlayStation blog, and it looks incredible. For those wondering whether or not to jump back in, this update seems like it could just be the thing to do that.
Despite the valiant efforts of our Helldivers to push back the fleet, the Illuminate have reached Super Earth. Now they are swarming our cities, terrorizing citizens, and destroying our infrastructure. It’s time to rise up and take arms and fight for the precious foundations and soil of Democracy manifest. Helldivers, return to our planet and defend what is rightfully ours.
It’s time to fight back, soldiers
The fight arrives on humanities door. Super Earth has been invaded, and players will be fighting the Illuminate amidst towering skyscrapers and busy streets. While the fight will be tough, Super Earth still has a few tricks up its sleeves, like arming the planetary defence cannons to repel the threat. Not only that, SEAF soldiers will be joining the fight. They can go it alone, or be ordered to fight alongside the Helldivers as they fight the oncoming waves of dangerous squids. With all of the carnage, citizens are roaming the streets, so it is imperative they aren’t harmed.
The new weapon customisation system will come into play with the Heart of Democracy update in Helldivers 2 as well.
Last week, we released a powerful primary weapon customization system and expanded surplus options to fight against the Illuminate as they emerged from the singularity. Now that you have learned the tactics of these new squid troops–like the Crescent Overseer and the hulking Fleshmob–you must master these tools to continue the fight on Super Earth. Use every available resource, divers, and decimate their forces!
