THQ Nordic has announced details of the first major update for early access racer, Wreckfest 2, and there will be new cars, tracks, and more.

The team said: “Sorting your server list and inviting friends – two of the most requested features – are now fully implemented. In a new video, the team at Bugbear Entertainment showcases the latest changes in action.

And for those wondering when the next update will drop, we’re targeting next month to add another two cars and two more tracks, as well as additional features. We’re also eager to hear what other things YOU want to see next!”

Check out the new trailer, below:

Here’s the list of features and additions for the May update:

Cars

  • 1x American sedan car
  • 1x European sports sedan

Maps

  • 1x Mixed surface folk race course (2 routes)
  • 1x Rallycross course (1 route)

Other features

  • Friend invites
  • Server sorting
  • DLSS & FSR upscaling support
  • Improved mechanical damage
  • Controller rumble
  • Various smaller improvements

In our early access impressions of Wreckfest 2, we felt it’s on the right track, saying: “With a limited selection of arenas in which to vent your frustrations, only four cars to choose from, and the notably odd lack of a soundtrack, Wreckfest 2 is a touch primitive in its current iteration. But what this has proven to me is that there’s a solid chassis underneath the beaten panels. With an outstanding physics engine, pure chaos on the track, a remarkable display of damage, and an unforgettable first-person view, forget what you know about racing games and embrace the carnage: just be prepared to be along for the ride as it’s polished up.”

Wreckfest 2 is in early access now on PC via Steam.
