Nixxes Software has released a hotfix for the just released version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which includes “various crash fixes” among other changes.

Announced via a Steam blog post, the developer said: “A second hotfix for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out now on PC. This update contains various crash fixes and changes aimed at further improving game stability. This patch also resolves a bug that prevented some players from getting Achievements. Affected players will unlock those Achievements retroactively after updating the game and loading a save file. We’ve also fixed a bug related to DualShock 4 button prompts and resolved a frame rate related progression blocker. Check out the patch notes below for more details.”

Here’s the list of updates:

  • Various crash fixes and stability improvements.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause Achievements not being awarded on some configurations.
  • Triangle and Square button prompts are now displayed correctly when using a DualShock 4 controller with Steam Input enabled.
  • Resolved a frame rate related bug that could block players during the mission ‘Show Me New York’.

The game is sitting on a “Mixed” reception, reviews-wise on Steam currently, with 5915 people adding to that status (at the time of writing).

Nixxes adds: “We continue to closely monitor our crash reporting system and player feedback. Our QA and development teams are actively investigating and working on additional patches to further improve the game.”

The publisher added that it’s worth ensuring your drivers are up to date as “outdated drivers could impact your playthrough”, and offer links for NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel Drivers.

Spider-Men Peter Parker and Miles Morales face the ultimate test of strength inside and outside the mask as they fight to save the city, each other and the ones they love, from the monstrous Venom and the dangerous new symbiote threat.

Explore a larger Marvel’s New York than ever before, featuring two new boroughs – Brooklyn and Queens – as well as locations like Coney Island, and more.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out now for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store).
