Jackbox has revealed a second game coming to The Jackbox Party Pack 11 called Doominate, and it sounds like an idea rooted in what made the series great in the beginning. The brand new party game is described as a “chaotic twist on joke-writing games where players take turns destroying each other’s wholesome ideas, all in the name of comedy.”
“Players build running jokes step-by-step by adding unexpected twists to each other’s prompts. The doominated prompts face off in 1v1-style battles, with the funniest (or most devastating) getting your vote. But the destruction isn’t forever. Every player gets a shot at redemption in the final round, when they can try to “un-destroy” their friends’ ideas with another revision to bring some heart back into the chaos. Whether you’re crafting a clever twist or rescuing a wrecked idea, Doominate is all about creative sabotage, surprise turns, and big laughs.
The series has been a staple of many gamer’s homes whenever they throw parties and have some friends over. We’ve lost count of how many times we’ve played Fibbage and Quiplash into the early hours of the morning. Doominate looks like a fine addition to the Jackbox catalogue, and we can’t wait to play The Jackbox Party Pack 11 when it releases later this year for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Steam, Epic Games, Apple TV and iPad, the Mac App Store, and Amazon Fire TV. It will also be launching on Amazon Luna for those with a subscription.
“There’s a lot of opportunity to enjoy Doominate with friends and family or people you don’t know that well!” said game director Brooke Breit. “You either find yourself indulging in inside jokes and deep references, or learning a heck of a lot about your new friends because when it comes down to it, it’s more fun to destroy things with others!”
A trailer has been released to show off Doominate. You can watch the new addition to The Jackbox Party Pack 11 below:
