Surgent Studios (the team behind Tales of Kenzera: ZAU) has announced two cast members from upcoming horror title, Dead Take.
The two cast members are big names, too. First up we have Ben Starr, who you’ll know from recently released Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but also Final Fantasy XVI. He will take on one of the lead roles along with Neil Newborn, who you’ll know from Baldur’s Gate 3, and Resident Evil Village.
The studio said of Dead Take: “Set in a luxurious yet secluded Hollywood Hills mansion, Dead Take casts players as an actor searching for his friend gone missing after a lavish Hollywood party. As they navigate escape-room-style puzzles and splice together videos they find along the way, players will uncover the darkest secrets behind the entertainment industry’s glittering facade.”
We’ve also got a new trailer, which “offers a glimpse into the in-game cinema where live-action videos can be played and spliced.”
“As actors in games and beyond, Neil, Ben, and I have leaned on each other through some extremely gruelling times,” said Abubakar Salim, Creative Director of Dead Take. “In those moments, we exchanged some of the horror stories that built the foundations of this game. Not only do they bring considerable talent to the project, but they also helped create a space in which we could all be truly raw and honest. I can’t wait for you to see the calibre of their performances in Dead Take.”
Starr has been in a lot of games lately, from The First Berserker: Khazan to Date Everything, and he’s also set to be in Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles, as Dycedarg, apparently. Likewise, Neil Newbon was also in Date Everything (as Drysdale), as well as Lies of P, and of course as we mentioned, he was Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, but also Zeon in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Dead Take is published by Pocketpair Publishing (Palworld, Craftopia) and is set to launch this year on PC via Steam.
