Space Raccoon Game Studio has today launched its asymmetrical multiplayer game The Mosquito Gang, featuring chaotic battles against bloodthirsty mosquitoes. It looks absolutely bonkers, and players will have a lot of fun taking on the role of either a human or one of the four enemy mosquitoes. It is out today on Steam and can be picked up for $9.99.
In The Mosquito Gang, you’ll take on the role of one of four elite, highly-trained mosquitoes in a desperate war against the greatest threat insectkind has ever faced: a repellent so powerful, so effective, it could wipe out the bug bloodline forever. With wings sharp as blades and bloodlust in your hearts, you must infiltrate human territory, drain their life force, evolve mid-battle, and extract before the repellent goes live.
OR… become the Human — humanity’s last line of defense. Armed with an ever-growing arsenal of weapons and gadgets, it’s your job to swat, spray, and stomp your way to victory and stop the swarm for good.
“Developing The Mosquito Gang has been a wild ride for us, especially as this is our first self-published game,” said Ilia Chernestov, CEO at Space Raccoon Game Studio. “We’ve laughed, argued, and probably taken down a few hundred real-world mosquitos ourselves during some late-night coding binges when we’ve forgotten to shut our windows properly. - Upgrades galore – as a human, order improved weapons and consumables to give you an edge in battle, or zip about as mosquito and gamble blood for useful abilities … that may also come at an unforeseen cost
- Dress for success – equip your character with a variety of snazzy items such as hats and glasses
- Get in, get out – as the mosquitos, take on a daring heist to extract blood from the human and fill your reservoirs, then extract from the map with your fellow skeeters to avoid being squished!
