At today’s Wholesome Direct, Malapata Studio announced a new game called Book Nook, which is a “quiet meditation on the joy of craft and the memories we carry for a lifetime”.
The studio says of Book Nook: “Discover the joy of assembling your own book nook one piece at time, select your favourite designs, and feel the satisfying snap as you pop pieces from their molds to assemble dioramas.”
We’ve got the reveal trailer for you, below.
The trailer says: “Introducing Book Nook is a game about the experience of building miniature diorama scenes, piece by piece. Complete beautiful book nooks as you place furniture, decorations, and small details. Relax and enjoy the peaceful satisfaction of every detail falling into place, as you discover more about each moment in time.”
Book Nook is a satisfying puzzle game that celebrates the experience of building things with your own hands. Piece by piece, Book Nook invites you to construct small, vibrant spaces. Place furniture, decorations, and tiny details until everything fits together perfectly. Let yourself be carried away by the calm of creation and discover how each diorama transports you back to a special memory.
What’s most special about this game is that behind every Book Nook lies a story to be told, where we’ll meet Dario and Elora. A story told from childhood to old age, about love, family, and the people who are always there for us.
Anabel Sánchez, studio director said: “We wanted to create something focused but with a big emotional impact. We were inspired by our favorite book nooks, those where we’ve spent so many hours without realizing it, and we wanted to make an intimate game that paid homage to them.”
Book Nook is coming to PC and Switch in 2026. A demo is out now.
