Square Enix has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts IV will be releasing in “late 2027”, and put out a new trailer at the D23 event showing the game off.
There was plenty of news coming from D23 (The Ultimate Disney Fan Event) 2026, aside the confirmation of a 2027 release date, too. The new trailer showed off the new in-game world inspired by the movie, Coco. There’s also an original anime coming for Disney Plus with a working title of, you guessed it, Kingdom Hearts. The show will be made in collaboration with Tetsuya Nomua and the creative team at Square Enix.
Check out the Coco trailer, below:
KINGDOM HEARTS IV follows protagonist Sora and some familiar characters as they journey though the mysterious city of Quadratum, where dark creatures known as the Heartless are causing havoc. In the next chapter of the beloved series, Sora will once again journey to various worlds inspired by Disney and Pixar, where new figures cross his path and new powers awaken.
This new trailer revealed a plethora of new information about KINGDOM HEARTS IV, including the return of familiar faces like Sora’s friends Donald Duck and Goofy. Fans will be able to play as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy as they seek to uncover information about Sora’s whereabouts.
