Developer tobspr Games has released the “biggest update yet” for factory automation title, shapez 2, and it’s called the “Dimension” update.
The update will add “multi-tiered 3D platforms” as well as a fully overhauled train system, better logistics tools, and other quality of life ideas that are meant to “supercharge efficiency and creativity.”
Check out the trailer showing off the Dimensions update for shapez 2:
Here’s a handy list from the press release for what’s new in the update:
- Multi-Level Platform Building: Build conveyors, rails, and pipes across multiple vertical layers for advanced layout control.
- Train System Overhaul: Redesigned visuals, smarter stops, configurable unloaders, instant transfer stations, and new train colors.
- Faster Space Belts: Throughput increased by 400%, allowing a single belt to carry 4x more items.
- Overflow Splitters: Directs flow to a preferred output, with overflow sent elsewhere.
- Shape Search: Locate specific shapes anywhere on your infinite map.
- New Platform Layouts: Classic T, L, and Cross layouts return, plus all-new variants.
- UI/UX Improvements: Operator previews, categorized shops, wire insights, and clearer throughput displays.
- Variable Belt Launchers: Belt launchers, fluid launchers, and wire transmitters now have a variable range.
shapez 2 is a top-down factory-building game where you extract and process geometric shapes. Each shape has its own set of building-blocks that your factories can take apart, stack, paint and put back together in unique ways. Automate the processing of geometric shapes, build massive factories and optimize them to solve increasingly complex logistics and automation tasks!
shapez 2 is financially supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action as part of the federal government’s computer games funding.
shapez 2 is out now for PC.
