Helpful Hints:
The Gravios’ key feature is the rocky hard shell exterior that covers its body. Weapons without a sufficient level of sharpness will struggle with this monster so keep an eye on maintaining those weapons which dull over time. The underbelly of the Gravios is its initial weakness. Unfortunately, this is where all of its gaseous attacks come from which can inflict Fireblight, Poison, and Sleep depending on what gas is used. It’s a recommended area to attack, but do so at your own risk. If you’re away from the Gravios when it is doing key attacks, keep an eye on potential wound strike opportunities which often come up after attacks, giving you free damage, and likely a downed foe for a few seconds. The Gravios is one of those iterative fights, the more damage you do to its body parts, the easier the fight becomes.
Weaknesses
Weapons: All weapons are equally strong in all areas. Note this isn’t as strong as they would be in weak areas of other monsters due to the Gravios’ tough shell.
Effects: Fireblight is nullified completely, Waterblight is your best bet here.
Elements: Water, Ice, or Dragon-element weapons are the most effective.
Status Effects: All status effects are possible and are quite effective.
Items: Flash Pods and Traps will work.
