Monster Hunter Wilds: How to beat Gypceros
General Info
Name: Gypceros
Monster Type: Bird Wyvern
Known Habitats: Plains, Basin, Cliffs, Wyveria
Characteristics:
Wyverns that can stun enemies by striking their prominent crests to produce powerful flashes of light. Their stretchy, rubbery hide resists blunt impacts and reduces the effectiveness of shock traps. A smart hunter knows to maneuver carefully around the poisonous filth they spew, which drips from the ceiling or down slopes.
Special Attack: Minor Wind Pressure, Poison, Flash.
Strategy
Weak Point: Head
Breakables: Head x2
Tail Sever: No
Helpful Hints:
The Gypceros’ signature move is a Stun move whereby it will strike its crest three times, and on the third time, the flash is unleashed. There are two ways to counter this, firstly during the three-strike build-up, the Gypceros is open to a wound attack on its head if you’re quick. But ultimately a longer-term plan is to break his head to prevent the attack full stop. The poison pools it spews as it runs about should be avoided to prevent an unnecessary debuff. You should also be aware of the Gypceros’ tail which can grow in length and hit for decent damage, so be sure to dodge. One other trick the Gypceros will do is pretend to be dead before it is. You will even be able to carve it a couple of times before it gets back up again for one final fight before going down for good.
Weaknesses
