You need a lot of resources in Monster Hunter Wilds, from insect parts and flowers to rare cloth and meal ingredients – and gathering them all yourself can be time-consuming at best. In previous games there have been numerous ways to gather resources, from Rise’s Palamute submarines to World’s botanical farm, but in Wilds you rely on the folk of the Forbidden Lands to help you out. MONSTER HUNTER WILDS MATERIAL RETRIEVAL
You’ll need to complete 5 different quests in High Rank to unlock all the gatherers, at which point Nata will also consolidate them into a single one-stop shop under Material Retrieval. You’ll always find Nata sitting by your tent in a Base Camp.
Each gatherer has a three-star rating beside the materials they can gather, which denotes how easy or hard it will be for them to find what you want. It’s best to play this like a game, only assigning the 2 to 3-star materials to each, to be the most efficient. Resting at your tent to advance the day significantly speeds up the retrieval rate. If you’re lucky, you’ll sometimes receive free rare items too.
