Characteristics:
Brute wyverns with disproportionately long tails. They spread a flammable substance which vaporizes quickly, then ignite it by dragging their tails along the ground. By nature, Quematrice rarely hunt their own prey, and instead scavenge herbivore carrion left behind by other predators. This often leads to confrontations with other, smaller carnivores.

Helpful Hints:
Firstly, you’ll want to be aware of the Fireblight status that the Quematrice can inflict upon you. It will sap your health until it subsides. Either use a Nulberry to remove it instantly, or dodge around to reduce the remaining time of the debuff. Your best bet here is to aim for the Quematrice’s large, feathery tail. It has a large hitbox, which is useful, but that works both ways, so watch out for when it swings it about. Alternatively, getting under the monster’s legs puts you in relative safety to do damage as well, just keep your eye on moving the camera accordingly. Focusing on the tail will result in a sever that can be carved, and reduces the Quematrice’s potency, so focus there and you won’t go far wrong.
