Monster Hunter Wilds Chatacabra | How to beat
General Info
Name: Chatacabra
Monster Type: Amphibian
Known Habitats: Plains
Characteristics:
Amphibians that use their long tongues to seize and devour prey such as Bulaqchi. Their evolved forelimbs store a sticky mucus-like substance. When agitated, Chatacabra rub their forelimbs against the ground to collect stone and ore, widening the range and destructiveness of their blows.
Special Attack: None
Strategy
Weak Point: Tongue
Breakables: Foreleg x 2
Tail Sever: No
Helpful Hints:
To avoid damage, your best bet is to stay to the side or behind Chatacabra and attack. His tongue is his weak point though, so if you can get decent damage on that when it swings about (assuming it doesn’t hit you in the process) you can really hurt it. As your first monster encounter, there are no special attacks or debuffs to worry about here, so your best bet is to practice and get a feel for your weapon of choice, practice dodging out of the way of its relatively slow attacks, and land your hits well. The Chatacabra should fall without too much bother.
Weaknesses

Status Effects: It is susceptible to most effects, but especially Poison, Paralysis, and Stun.
Items: Flash Pods and traps will work.
