Blue Prince | How to unlock the Drawing Room Safe

This safe is hidden initially, and then tricky to solve, but we've got you covered.
Blue Prince Drawing Room Safe

The Drawing Room is a room in Blue Prince, where you will come across a Safe that you’ll be keen to unlock. By this point in your adventure, you’re likely curious as to what’s inside, and you’d be right to be so. Unlocking safes allows you to piece together more of the puzzles and history that surround Mount Holly and the Sinclair family. Here at Loot Level Chill, we’ve spent hours on Blue Prince, and have unlocked all the safes in the game. As such we know a thing or two about how they operate. Read on to discover how you unlock the Drawing Room Safe in Blue Prince.

SPOILER WARNING

As with most things in Blue Prince, part of the fun is self-discovery, and below this spoiler warning we will be revealing plenty of secrets of the game. We encourage you to try and find out the solutions to puzzles on your own to get the full experience of Blue Prince. Only read on if you do not mind some of those secrets being spoiled.

Please bear in mind that some of these spoilers are for later in the game than some of our other guides, and spoil significant puzzles and areas you may not have discovered on your own. You have been warned.

Where is the safe?

Unlike some other rooms, the safe in the Drawing Room is hidden originally, to the point where, you may not even know there is one in the room. However, pay close attention to the picture on the easel, and you will notice behind Herbert, that one of the sticks of the candelabra is wonky. Go over to that candelabra and interact with it, to bend it and reveal the safe behind a picture.

What clues are there?

In terms of the clue to the code, the biggest one is in the picture that was raised to reveal the safe. It shows a lady with an arrow showing the small lengths of her steps. There are plenty of pictures around the Drawing Room, you may want to look around and see if you can see the same size step elsewhere.

What is the code to the Boudoir Safe in Blue Prince?

The trick here is there are actually two different pictures that have the same small-sized step, the first is the same lady as above the safe, and the other is an old man. If you count up the number of each of them all around the Drawing Room, you get 15 Old Man steps and 4 Lady steps. Given that we need to translate this into a date, we’re either left with 1504 or 0415. Now, annoyingly, not all the safes in Blue Prince stick to the same date rules (MM/DD or DD/MM), but at least we can whittle it down to two options. In this instance, the correct code for the Drawing Room Safe is:

1504

What is in the Safe?

As with all the safes in Blue Prince, we receive a Red Letter, this one has a number “six” on it, and is a letter addressed to Mary from Herbert, discussing Simon. There is also, as usual a Gem inside.

Congratulations you have opened the Drawing Room Safe in Blue Prince.
