Bungie has revealed everything coming this year to Destiny 2, with new content including two expansions, core game updates, huge seasonal updates, and more. The ‘Year of Prophecy’ ushers in the next exciting chapter called Destiny 2: Year of Fate. This chapter will be setting the stage for the Fate Saga, meaning there’s no end in site for the popular online shooter. The Edge of Fate expansion sees the Nine playing a pivotal role in uncovering one of Destiny 2’s biggest mysteries.
When The Edge of Fate releases on July 15, players will be reintroduced to the Nine, powerful and mysterious beings who existed long before the Traveler, and face a new threat that predates everything Guardians know about Sol. Two major characters will step into the spotlight: Lodi, a new ally from a distant place, and the legendary Warlock Vanguard Ikora. The Edge of Fate will propel Guardians into a multiyear saga that will unfold across multiple expansions.

There’re plenty of details regarding the Year of Prophecy on the official website. It also includes info on pre-orders being available for The Edge of Fate. One of the coolest announcements regarding the new content coming to Destiny 2 over the next year is Renegades. The expansion which releases in December is inspired by Star Wars, featuring various gameplay, storytelling, and themes drawn straight from the science fiction franchise. It will include new characters, innovative activities, and evolved mechanics.
“With each of our Fate Saga Expansions, we’re looking to break from our past formulas and deliver something truly unique, and Renegades is no exception” said Justin Truman, Destiny Vice President. “It’s a Destiny story at heart, but with a Star Wars-inspired take that’s been a dream for us to explore.”
As for Rite of the Nine, players can dive into the new event from today. It offers a fresh take on dungeons and will feature three in total. Acting as a prologue for The Edge of Fate, Guardians will take on Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghosts of the Deep, featuring twists on familiar encounters and refreshed weapons.
