Far From Home has announced that the 1.0 update for Forever Skies has been released, and that means the game is officially “out now”.
Not just on PC, however, there’s also a PlayStation 5 version, and this ends the early access period that’s been in progress for nearly two years, adding new content and major game updates.
“We’re extremely proud to be launching Forever Skies 1.0 officially today,” says Andrzej Blumenfeld, CEO at Far From Home. “We spent 21+ months in Early Access, working really closely with our community who helped us to shape the game every step of the way. So to them and everyone who got behind us, we want to say a massive THANK YOU!”
If you have been playing already, here’s some of the new content, along with the major points of note for the 1.0 release:
- Final story chapter: where players will be faced with an unprecedented and chilling decision.
- Biomes: evolving the game’s procedural world with more cohesive environments
- Advanced Airship Building: players will find new designs, upgrades, and cosmetics to expand and customise their airship.
- New Locations: adding to the adventure with new location types and places to explore
- Colossal lifeforms: rare creatures that are far beyond your means to fight due to their size. However, getting close enough at times might reward you.
- New tools and technology: research more advanced means to survive and thrive.
- Performance optimization
- Balance and progression tweaks and more
In Forever Skies, players take on the role of scientists, sent back to a toxic, post-apocalyptic Earth to try to uncover a cure for a virus plaguing the last remnants of humanity. Use advanced technology, explore, scavenge, and survive while piloting a customizable high-tech airship. Whether you choose to go solo or team up with up to 4 players in co-op mode, Forever Skies delivers an immersive survival experience, where exploration, crafting, and resourcefulness are the keys to overcoming this harsh new reality.
Forever Skies is out now for PC and PlayStation 5.
