Quantum Witch is a wonderful narrative focused platformer, which especially after your first playthrough really opens up into something special. I had a particularly frustrating time at the start of the game though upon arriving at Hus village, where I couldn’t figure out how to progress for far too long. If you’re struggling with this too then worry not, we have a guide that will hopefully help you get past this brick wall.
After wandering around looking for Faer for a while, there’s a chance you’ll end up running out of threads to chase. At this point I hoped the helpful skeleton behind the waterfall would help me, but he was too busy calling me luv to really assist me on my quest. For me this meant wandering around and getting annoyed, but for you this will be much easier thanks to our guide.

Firstly you’ll need to do some combat training, which you’ll find by walking left from Ren’s house until you reach the town square. Past all the vendors you’ll find an intimidating blue haired woman guarding a door. If you talk to her she’ll offer you combat training, which is given to you by a giant leg. After completing this you’ll be able to punch whenever you want, which you’ll need to do to meet a key character.
Next you need to head to the Pool Temple, but don’t worry you aren’t here for anything seedy. From the town square walk to the right to the crossroads, and take the passage in the middle to arrive at your destination. Now turn to the left and check out the big wall made of two crates. With one punch this can be completely destroyed, and will allow you to move on to the next area where you’ll meet Hannah. Breaking this wall should be all you need to do to carry on with your adventure, and hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

In our review of Quantum Witch, we said: “After all is said and done, it’s hard to really know where I sit with Quantum Witch. Those early hours of getting stuck are some of my least favourite gaming hours in recent memory, and I can’t just overlook them. With perseverance, though, I was able to discover the joy of Quantum Witch: the wonderfully written characters, the messed up world, and oh so many endings. If you don’t mind having to bash your head against a wall a bit (or just use a guide perhaps) you’ll find a lot of joy in Quantum Witch, but it’s far from friction free.”
Quantum Witch is out now for PC via Steam.
