The opening few hours of Tales of the Shire are fairly linear. You’ll skip along from quest to quest, usually sending you from hobbit to hobbit to talk to them, cook for them, or gather stuff for them.
A few hours into the game though, Daisy Took will ask for help with some riddles. They’ve been given to her to help with her reading, and while she seems to understand them, she’s not sure where they’re supposed to lead her. That’s where your hobbit comes in, and if you’re struggling to answer them then we’ve got the solutions below:
Daisy’s first riddle
“In the eye of the lake, there stands a tree. And in its roots, you’ll find what you seek”
I’d seen plenty of ponds up until this point but no lakes. If you open your map and look at the very bottom, right in the centre of the map, you’ll spot a lake with a small island in the middle that looks just like an eye. It’s just to the right of the Cotton’s farm.

Head down here and you’ll find some stepping stones out to the island. There you should see the telltale sparkle that some sort of story-related event is going to occur. Walk into it to solve the riddle.

Daisy’s second riddle
“In the heart of the forest, it calls. The river doesn’t run, it falls. Its water doesn’t babble, it roars”
This one’s obviously referring to some sort of waterfall in the forest. There’s actually a handful of these that I’ve seen though, so which is the right one?

The right waterfall is in the bottom right of the map. Once you’re here you’ll again see the sparkles, step into them and you’ll have solved Daisy’s second riddle.

These aren’t the most taxing riddles but if you’ve not explored the full map yet they might catch you out.
