Atomfall throughs you into the aftermath of a nuclear fallout in northern England. It’s not ideal, really, and neither is fending off tons of thugs. By scavenging and looting, there are some lifelines. Early on, finding whatever you can is going to help you take out these lunatics scattered around the world. We’ve put together a little guide that shows you where to go after getting out of the Interchange and finding your first shotgun in Atomfall.
It’s unlikely that the shotgun will be missed, but Atomfall is a game that asks you to explore. It’s freedom can sometimes be a curse, so that’s why we’ve put together the means of equipping yourself with a solid weapon for the early stages of the game.
Turn left at the phone box
After walking out of the Interchange, you’ll arrive in Slatten Dale. Turn left at the phone box and wander down the hill. On the left there’s a building with a wooden door that has a hole you can crawl through. Once inside, walk through the house in almost a ‘U’ shape and there’s a large climbable block. Hoist yourself up and then turn right to climb through a gap into a room with a corpse in it. As you interact with the body, there’s a rusty Leamington 12 Gauge Shotgun in his lap.
It’s by no means the best gun in Atomfall. However, it’s a great weapon for when up close to an enemy. Despite being right at the start of the game, there’re plenty of bad guys that want to see you dead, and don’t get us started on those creepy bastards inside the underground vaults. Later on, weapons can be upgraded, improving past rusty. Still, why would you say no to a good old-fashioned shotgun that can cause a decent amount of damage? Just aim for the head, ok.
