Thunderful Publishing has announced that a demo for Lost in Random: The Eternal Die has been released on Steam, and confirmed the full game is coming in Summer.
The original game (Lost in Random) was published under the EA Originals label (the same one that Hazelight’s It Takes Two, and upcoming Spit Fiction are from), and was received pretty well, with it currently sitting on a 78 on Metacritic, and the same score on OpenCritic. Upon first glance you might wonder why The Eternal Die is seemingly from a different developer (Stormteller Games), but it doesn’t actually seem that’s the case, since Thunderful Gothenburg (the team responsible for the first game) was rebranded to Stormteller Games last week.
Anyway, a few days ago a new gameplay trailer was released which shows The Eternal Die looking quite different, at least in terms of pace, to the original.
The demo is also on Xbox according to the publisher, which confirms the game is a bit different this time around, saying: “Step back into the whimsical, dark fantasy world of Random – this time with a roguelite twist. In this free demo, you’ll experience the first of four enchanting yet perilous worlds as Queen Aleksandra and her loyal die-companion, Fortune.”
Lost in Random: The Eternal Die blends dynamic real-time action, tactical combat, and risk-reward dice mechanics for thrilling second-to-second battles.
Unravel an original stand-alone story as Queen Aleksandra, the once great ruler of Random on a mission for vengeance and redemption.
Wield an arsenal of four unique weapons, unleash powerful card-based abilities, harness elemental relics and strategically roll your trusted die-companion, Fortune, to shift the tide of battle. Or take on high-stakes wager games where the right roll could lead to incredible rewards… or crushing consequences.
Even death isn’t final – return to the Sanctuary to unlock new weapons, buy powerful upgrades, and take on quests from your allies to prepare for your next run.
Lost in Random: The Eternal Die is coming to PC, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation in Summer 2025.
